DIGITAL PHOTOS PRINTED STRAIGHT ONTO CLAY USING THE POWER OF THE SUN!?
Nope, it's not science fiction, it's the magic of Cyanotype!
In this excellent hands on workshop, explore the wondrous 19th century printing technique of cyanotype and how imagery and light interact with the surface of clay. You'll be guided through each step of the process, learning how to set up and create mesmerizing blue prints - directly onto bisque tiles - using UV rays, or (weather permitting!) the sun itself! Students will also learn how to print pressed flowers and leaves on bisque vessels, using the same technique. Whether you are a beginner or a professional potter, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore a brand new method of design and a new approach to decorating ceramics.
Experience Requirement: None!
What to bring: An image to transfer onto the tile - sent via email before the workshop (camera images are best for quality, phone camera images may not come out as detailed)
What else to bring (optional): An already bisqued vessel for printing pressed flowers and leaves onto in the sun!
What's included: A porcelain tile, bisqued vessel, images, and protective gear for use during the workshop
