About the class
Instructor: Katya
It's a GLOOPY GLAZE GLURPSHOP!
What works best for gloop? For puff? For crawl? And what’s the difference between a successfully stylish drip & an unintended meltdown?
See what wonders the ever widening world of glazing has in store for you by getting fully aquatinted with special effects glazes! Join longtime instructor & longer-time gloopy glazer, Katya, for this quick, 2.5 hour workshop where you’ll get comfy with these distinct glazes.
We’ll take a peek into what makes these glazes so special, before diving into all sorts of application methods, piece prep, & related tools.
This powerpacked workshop will give students the opportunity to sample an array of special effects glazes all in one shot — layering, brushing, building up, and everything in between, all under expert guidance, complete with hard-won tips, tricks, and hints.
All materials & test tiles provided, though students are encouraged to bring along up to 3 bisque-fired cylinders, under 5 inches, to practice on as well.
Experience Level: Beginner friendly
What to Bring:
Apron, washcloth, closed-toed shoes, & freshly-trimmed fingernails
Hair tie for long hair - leave dangling jewelry, rings, watches etc at home!
Optional: 1-3 bisqued cylinders (made with ^6 clay & under 5 inches)
What's included: Materials and tools for use during the workshop
What you'll be making: Up to 10 glaze test tiles + any cylinders you've brought to glaze
Firing Information: Pieces will be glaze fired after the workshop
