About the class
Instructor: Holly
This two-day, beginner (and intermediate!) friendly workshop invites you into the meditative practice of Kurinuki—a traditional Japanese hand-carving method that reveals form through thoughtful, quiet removal. Guided by seasoned artist & ceramicist Holly de Saillan, you'll design and shape 2–3 small serving pieces—perfect for delicious side-dishes, tasty sauces, and sweet holiday traditions to come.
Day One will focus on sketching, building, and carving the rough shape of your heirloom pieces, and on Day Two - we’ll refine, smooth, and add subtle details that bring each form to life.
Beginner-friendly and open to all levels, we invite you to carve out time to create with intention—and craft meaningful pieces to use, gift, and treasure for years to come.
