About the class

Celebrate color, pattern, and design by entering into the world of newsprint transfers! Join longtime studio technician & ceramics instructor, Katya, in this quick 2.5 hour workshop where you’ll create your own, personal print on clay. We'll start by sketching out a general design, before getting comfortable with printing materials & techniques - finishing off by diving in to application with an array of linework & color!
Students will be encouraged to explore pattern & expression, all while getting familiar with this extremely approachable method that can be applied to all types, shapes, and use of wares.
Students will be provided with tiles to practice with, though are encouraged to bring along a piece of leather-hard greenware to practice guided vertical application.
Experience Level: Beginner friendly
What to Bring:
Apron, washcloth, closed-toed shoes, & freshly-trimmed fingernails
Hair tie for long hair - leave dangling jewelry, rings, watches etc at home!
Optional: 1-2 pieces of leather-hard greenware
What's included: Materials and tools for use during the workshop
What you'll be making: Up to three (4” x 4”) decorated tiles
Firing Information: Pieces will be bisque + glaze fired after the workshop, with option to choose natural or a black-underglaze wash finish
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know 7 days before your class/workshop begins. We are unable to offer refunds, transfers, or exchanges, within 7 days of the start of a class/workshop for any reason. Any refunds issued are subject to a 5% processing fee.

Studio Access: Our main entrance includes a set of steps. However, an alternative accessible entrance is available upon request.
Transportation of Clay: The average weight of a new bag of clay is 25 pounds. We are prepared to assist if you require assistance with transporting heavier items.
