Sculpture 101: Texture Deep Dive

Surface texture can be as nuanced as you want, and is very powerful on functional work. Having a big vocabulary of surfaces, and juxtaposing those surfaces can lead to a richer expression and user experience. In this process-oriented short workshop, we will jump into a group of exercises aimed at experimenting with new ways of mannering surfaces.  As you consider the audience for your work, think about how a user might converse with your vessel. What can you do with your texture to elevate your work?

Students will walk away with some new ideas, and a couple bisqued exercises as mementos!
