Underglaze 101

This workshop will walk you through how to bring out the best color and design on your ceramic pieces. Lead by local artist & illustrator Erika Rier, we’ll explore and practice the application of underglaze, focusing on illustrative techniques, brushing tips, tricks, and how to trouble shoot and get the most vibrant designs possible. 

Students will construct a small pair of dishes to decorate and practice on. Additionally, students may bring in their own greenware pieces for practice if they prefer.

• What to Bring: [Optional] Students may supply their own greenware (please no bisque ware), bringing in up to 2 mug-sized pieces to decorate.
