About the class
So what is clay, anyway? Bring your curiosity to this beginner-friendly taster-teaser to explore how dirt from the ground can be turned into workable clay!
We will launch a hands-on exploration into identifying, harvesting, and processing the abundant wild clay of the Willamette River Basin. Discussions of philosophy, safety, geology, material properties, and further testing are all on the agenda. Expect a powerpoint, class discussion, and ample time to get messy with native clay. Pick up your clutch of wild clay pinch pots once they're fired!
